Osteopathy

There are many causes of muscular discomfort, from occupational strain caused by poor seating in the workplace, to lifting heavy or awkward weights (including babies & children).  Car accidents can, in many cases, cause directional stress and or whiplash strain on muscles and ligaments.

Pain does not necessarily arise immediately after trauma but can build up insidiously over a period of time.

Osteopaths will examine and assess the mechanics of the whole body and use a variety of manipulative techniques to restore a state of balance, to ease movement and relieve pain and discomfort.

We see patients from babies, teenagers, middle age to the elderly, primarily working through the neuro-musculo-skeletal system, mostly on muscles and joints. We look at general body function, including life style and social conditions, so we are able to treat the whole person.

Cranial Osteopathy

-

Cranial osteopaths are trained to feel subtle rhythmical shape changes that are present in all the bodily tissues.  Using involuntary motion in these tissues they can feel if there is something preventing healthy movement of those tissues.  They  use very gentle manipulative pressure to aid release of these stresses.

A detailed case history will be made followed by a careful examination to make a diagnosis of what is causing the symptoms.  Using very subtle movements they aim to release the accumulated stresses and strains and to relieve current symptoms and to improve the underlying health of the tissues.

Cranial osteopaths treat all age groups.
